Take a Good Long Look (Weasel)

Graphic Designer, Photographer, Artist

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, camping and hiking weekends in the Sierra Nevada Range. Enthralled with photography, I set on my path as a 4”x5” format commercial and landscape photographer, graphic designer and print broker. After business school, I was a photo-journalist for a motorcycle racing publication.

I added calligraphy of quotes by naturalists to my landscape photographs, sold in galleries and art fairs. I began painting with watercolors. Eventually my skills evolved into self-employment. My commissions for museums and convention centers include high desert ecosystem photos enlarged to 16 ft. x 19 ft. and 7 ft. tall sub-tropical natural habitat illustrations.

During eight years living full time in an RV with my sculptor husband, we sold his whimsical wire creatures and mobiles nationwide (23 states) at juried art festivals. I photographed arts and crafts and designed marketing materials for other entrepreneurs.

I became enamored with the mark making and luminosity of pastel. Often my art includes alluring sparkling waterways, as we enjoyed living 20 years in SW Florida near the Gulf of Mexico.

Captivated by New Mexico’s diverse culture and geography, we moved here in 2017.

I have always been an outdoor enthusiast: mountain climber, backpacker, cross country skier, snow camper, sailor and river/ocean kayaker. I can’t resist seeking what’s around the bend on a dirt road. Occasionally I paint plein air, but I would rather hit the trail.
